Rumors have been spiraling within the Philadelphia 76ers organization, motivating NBA insider Jake Fischer to report on word that Kelly Oubre could be on the trade block.
This has sparked a lot of drama, including a social media post by Oubre himself, calling out Philadelphia’s organization and fanbase. So could this mean that we have seen the last of the NBA veteran in a 76ers uniform?
After the news struck, insiders have been looking into possible trade destinations for the 29-year-old, who’s playing on an expiring contract for the 2025-26 season.
Nuggets could offer Zeke Nnaji in a trade for Kelly Oubre
So, where could Kelly Oubre, who is owed $8.38 million in the upcoming season, get traded to?
Bleacher Report‘s Andy Bailey threw out a few potential landing spots for the NBA veteran, and one of the teams includes the Denver Nuggets. According to the insider, a one-for-one deal that would send Zeke Nnaji to Philadelphia in exchange for Kelly Oubre could make sense.
“The Denver Nuggets’ Zeke Nnaji is a big man making roughly the same amount as Oubre in 2025-26, so the math on a trade isn’t complicated… Oubre wouldn’t be guaranteed a rotation spot on the title-contending Nuggets, but he’s likelier to help than Nnaji. And for a second unit that has long struggled for offense without Nikola Jokić, his desire to score could help,” Bailey wrote.
An upgrade in three-point shooting wouldn’t be a priority in this scenario; being able to put up points for a struggling Nuggets bench unit would be. Nnaji has averaged 3.2 points per game in the past two seasons, while Oubre’s known to be able to score. He averaged 15.1 points per game last season and 15.4 points per game the season before.
Whether a trade like this goes down or not, a player like Kelly Oubre would upgrade Denver in a category they are looking to improve upon.
