The Boston Red Sox have a ridiculous number of talented players in their organization.
They kept Kristian Campbell on the opening day roster, and he’s rewarded their choice with strong play. But just off the pace are two top-10 prospects in all of baseball, Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer.
Anthony and Mayer are currently hanging out at Triple-A Worcester, biding their time until it’s their turn to take the big leagues by storm.
In the meantime, they’re terrorizing Triple-A pitching.
Anthony crushed a grand slam on Thursday.
Mayer turned on a grand slam of his own on Friday.

So far on the season, Anthony is batting .293 with four homers and the best batted-ball metrics in the entire Boston organization.
Mayer has started slow in the average department at just .203, but he has three homers and already 17 RBI in just 15 games.
The Red Sox are relatively healthy in the majors, with the fast starts of guys like Wilyer Abreu and Trevor Story contributing to keeping the outfielder Anthony and shortstop Mayer down at Triple-A.
Pretty soon, though, they’ll give Boston no choice but to make room for them.
Triple-A pitchers are surely rooting for that to happen sooner rather than later.
This week, it’s the Rochester Red Wings who have watched two of baseball’s best prospects clear the bases with one swing.
Pretty soon, the Fenway Park faithful will get to enjoy the show.
