Red Sox predicted to make blockbuster trade this offseason for All-Star pitcher to create 1-2 punch with Garrett Crochet

The Boston Red Sox didn’t really do much at the trade deadline this season, but they did let fans know one thing: they want Minnesota Twins All-Star pitcher Joe Ryan. The Sox made a ‘late effort’ to grab him at the deadline, and some news outlets even reported that it was happening, but it turned out nothing got agreed on.

However, people still think the Sox may take another swing at the flamethrower this offseason. Baseball analyst Youtuber Robbie Hyde is one of those people, as he thinks Ryan will be suiting up for Boston come the 2026 season.

“When it came to last year’s trade deadline, teams including the Red Sox tried to pry away [Garrett] Crochet from the White Sox, but he ended up staying put and ended up going to the Red Sox in the offseason,” Hyde stated. “I say the same thing happens here with [Joe] Ryan, with [Jeff] Passan, like I said, he reported the Red Sox were getting close, and the Red Sox having one of the better farm systems in the game, I say they figure out a way to hammer out a deal.”

If this does happen, the Red Sox would arguably have the best 1-2 punch in all of baseball, and one of the best rotations in the league, as long as Brayan Bello and Lucas Giolito produce like they have been.

However, Hyde did list some contenders that the Sox might have to fight with to get Ryan. “I could see the Cubs being a great fit…the Orioles could use an ace…the Mets have some good prospects, especially some good pitching prospects they could part with,” Hyde noted.

This won’t matter too much however, as if the Sox want Ryan, they’ll get him, just like they did Crochet. And they definitely want him.
