It seems like the Boston Red Sox will be marching into their first playoff appearance since 2021, and the team is rolling. It also seems like they’ll be seeing a familiar face.
According to Fansided’s Zachary Rotman, he predicts the Sox will enter another series in The Rivalry, facing off against the New York Yankees in the Bronx for the Wildcard Series.

“Does it get much better than this? The Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is as good as any in the history of sports, and they’re projected to play in the Wild Card round,” Rotman wrote.
Rotman continued, predicting that even though the Yankees have more talent, they’d lose to Boston, and the Sox would move on to the ALDS.
“As for predictions, that’s where this gets difficult. I believe that the Yankees are the more talented team and have home-field advantage, but the Red Sox seem to have their number, and considering how well their top three starters have performed, I’d argue they’d have the pitching advantage. Give me Boston to advance,” Rotman stated.

The Sox are 8-2 against the Yankees this season, so winning the Wildcard series might not be that hard. Even in the Bronx, the Sox are 5-2 against their rivals, so winning two of three games might not be that hard.
Overall, it looks like the Sox are in a good spot, no matter what. They either face the Yankees at home or away in the Wildcard race, or they somehow win the division and play either the Toronto Blue Jays or the Yankees.
