The final of the Supercopa de Espana will feature Spain’s two biggest clubs for the third straight season as Real Madrid and Barcelona clash in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The teams have split the last two El Clasico meetings in this competition, with Barcelona winning 3-1 in 2023 and Real Madrid triumphing last January.
This go around, there’s very little to separate the two teams, as both enter this showcase event with plenty of flaws to be exploited. Barcelona were exposed by Atletico Madrid near the end of the 2024 calendar year, while Real Madrid continue to work through their injury issues.
Both sides advanced through the Supercopa semifinals in multi-goal victories, as Madrid topped Mallorca 3-0 and Barcelona put down Athletic Club by a 2-0 score.

Carlo Ancelotti is still working through how to get his superstar front three existing together, as was evident through much of the semifinal against Mallorca until they overwhelmed their opponents late. This is a high bar to clear, but these teams seem to provide box-office entertainment at every meeting.
They’ve combined for four or more goals in each of their last three competitive meetings, and four of the last five. They also topped this mark in both of their one-off Supercopa meetings, plus four of their six games prior to the switch from two-legged finals.
With all the superstars seemingly fit and ready to take the field on both sides, there should be more than enough attacking quality to see this total through.

These two teams produce fireworks each time they match up, and there’s no reason this game should be any different. While you can take the two teams to combine for 12+ shots on target at around +140, focusing in on Barcelona will provide more value.
Real Madrid’s defensive injuries have caused real problems this year, and they’ve been more porous than usual as Carlo Ancelotti abandons any attempt to patch it up, preferring to outscore teams to make up for the deficiencies. Unfortunately for Madrid, that means they play right into Barcelona’s hands.
Barcelona are a team that dominate possession, out-shooting Real Madrid 15-9 in their late October league meeting while peppering Andriy Lunin with seven efforts on frame. With Lamine Yamal back healthy and firing, they should manage to test the Real Madrid goal repeatedly.
