Real Madrid’s 2024/25 season will stretch on beyond the final day of the La Liga campaign on May 25.
Los Blancos exit from the UEFA Champions League means they will not be in the final in Munich on May 31 but they are heading to the newly-expanded FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team are focused on chasing down Barcelona in the La Liga title race next month alongside facing Hansi Flick’s team in the Copa del Rey final on April 26.
However, ahead of a hectic schedule, Ancelotti has been dealt another injury blow with France international Eduardo Camavinga ruled out for a substantial period.
Eduardo Camavinga injury update: Return date, games missed
Camavinga came on as half-time replacement for David Alaba in Real Madrid’s gritty 1-0 La Liga win at Getafe.
Despite completing the full game, Ancelotti confirmed his midfield star would undergo further tests, after landing awkwardly following a collision with Luis Milla.

A club statement has since offered an update on those checks, with the 22-year-old confirmed as suffering a ‘complete tear of the tendon in his left abductor muscle’ with his rehabilitation starting immediately.
Los Blancos have not confirmed a return date, but multiple outlets – including Spanish daily Marca – have indicated his season is over, including the Club World Cup.
Real Madrid have five more La Liga games left to play in 2024/25 plus the Copa del Rey final vs. Barcelona.
Speculation over whether Ancelotti will still be in charge for the Club World Cup remains, with their campaign starting against Al Hilal in Miami on June 18, but Camavinga will not make the trip to the USA.
Camavinga will also miss France’s June matches in the UEFA Nations League final series starting with a semifinal against Spain on June 5.
A preseason return is expected, with a recovery period of around two months, as the 2025/26 La Liga campaign gets underway in mid-August.
