Real Madrid offered green light on Serie A defensive target

AS Roma have reportedly made a bold decision on the future of defensive star Evan Ndicka amid interest from Real Madrid.

The Ivory Coast international has developed into one of Serie A’s standout defenders in recent months with Real Madrid watching him closely, without a formal offer.

Despite the club’s ongoing need for defensive stability after an injury-riddled season, there are reports of a willingness to accept an offer in the region of for €40m [$46m], as reported by Defensa Central.

Real Madrid have already secured a deal for 20-year-old center-back Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth for €60m [$69m], which has already stretched the club’s summer budget.

Roma’s urgency to offload Ndicka comes due to ongoing financial pressure being felt in the Italian capital.

In Madrid, David Alaba and Eder Militao are still recovering from long standing injuries, and Antonio Rudiger is slowing easing back into their lineup,.

Ndicka, known for his physical strength, left-footed composure, and experience in the Bundesliga and Serie A, was once on Juni Calafat’s radar, who happens to be Real Madrid’s head scout.

The main road block focuses on Roma’s asking price, which Real Madrid view as too high, on the back of signing Huijsen earlier this month.

If Ndicka does not make the move to Spain, he could find a new home in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Newcastle United both monitoring the situation.
