With his injury, Real are down to no fit right-backs, with Alonso now likely to choose from Raul Asencio or Federico Valverde
Carvajal will miss several games, including an important Champions League fixture against Juventus.
The right back could also miss the first installment of El Clásico this season, with Real and Barcelona set to play on October 26.
Other games that Carvajal will miss include Kairat in the Champions League, Villarreal, and Getafe in La Liga.
His return could come on November 2 against Valencia, assuming the right-back doesn’t suffer any setbacks in his recovery.
