Real Madrid boost: Jude Bellingham aiming for early comeback

Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso has looked promising so far after just two games in the new season. The Spanish manager is relying on all players in the squad, but he will be without one of the team’s best players, Jude Bellingham.

The English midfielder underwent shoulder surgery on July 15, after the FIFA Club World Cup. He has had shoulder problems since late 2023, and the surgery was well overdue.

Bellingham is expected to return to playing football in late October or November, but there is new hope that the midfielder could return sooner than that.

Real Madrid is currently experiencing an injury crisis in the midfield, with Eduardo Camavinga also sidelined; however, he is expected to return soon. Bellingham could follow with an early return as his recovery is progressing well so far.

How Early Could Jude Bellingham Come Back?

Diario AS reporter Ruben Martin reports that Bellingham wants to return before the international break that takes place in early October. This could potentially be in the final week of September.

That return date seems too soon for a return, and the club prefers the player to wait and be cautious. Bellingham is reportedly feeling nearly ready for a return to the pitch.

The English midfielder is expected to return to the starting XI when he is fully recovered. In the midfield three, Alonso has played Arda Guler, Federico Valverde, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

The last two games before the October international break are Atletico Madrid away from home and Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With two games against two top teams, Real Madrid will either not want to risk Bellingham hurting his shoulder again or go for the risk and play the midfielder for those important fixtures in the league.

Villarreal have started the season well with two wins from two matches, while Atletico have one point after two matches, which adds pressure to the team’s fixtures, including the Madrid derby.
