Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid following Kobbie Mainoo’s future

The summer transfer window offers surprises when the deadline gets closer. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid may plan on bringing another player for this season, but they are reportedly after the same player.

Mike Keegan from Mail Sport reports that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are monitoring the situation of Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United. The English midfielder has not played this season so far after two games despite being available.

Manchester United played two games in the Premier League so far, and the 20-year-old did not feature in either game. He was given a few minutes during the preseason, but it is clear that Ruben Amorim prefers other players in the midfield.

After the 1-1 draw against Fulham, Amorim revealed that Mainoo is competing with Bruno Fernandes in the midfield position, which, from the fans’ perspective, means Mainoo will not play often.

Neither Real Madrid nor Atletico Madrid has made a bid for the player, but it could be a possibility that either club may attempt a move for the player.

Which club is more likely to sign Kobbie Mainoo?

Both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid appeared to be done with the transfer window, but new reports suggest that the Spanish clubs may attempt one more move.

Real Madrid appears like the club most likely to sign Mainoo as they prepare to offload Dani Ceballos, who is linked to a move to Marseille.

If the Spanish midfielder leaves, Xabi Alonso reportedly wants the club to sign a midfielder.

Atletico Madrid would need to sell another player to bring in another player. Atleti are linked to sign Nicolas Gonzalez from Juventus, but the club needs to decide which player should be sold.
