Ravens trade rumor from Tony Pauline should pique interest from Bucs, Rams, Jaguars

The 2025 NFL season hasn’t gone the Baltimore Ravens’ way, as the team sits at 1-5 heading into a must-win Week 8 matchup versus the Chicago Bears.

Though the season isn’t over yet for John Harbaugh’s squad, they still have an uphill battle to make the playoffs. If the season continues to go poorly, Baltimore must start thinking about moving off some of their veterans at the trade deadline.

One Ravens veteran who has been involved in trade rumors over the last few months is tight end Mark Andrews. The 30-year-old is in the final year of his deal and will eventually be replaced by Isaiah Likely in the future.

Andrews is a likely trade candidate if Baltimore decides to sell at the deadline, which is a possibility, according to Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline.

Pauline also adds that other Ravens players in the final year of their deals, like Andrews, could be traded.

“With the Ravens doing so poorly this season with a 1-5 record, sources tell me that the team could move not only Andrews but also other players in the final year of their contract,” Pauline wrote. “If they lose to the Chicago Bears this weekend, league insiders expect the Ravens to be sellers as the trade deadline approaches.”

It would make sense for Baltimore to be sellers at the deadline and try to reload for a better opportunity at competing for a championship in 2026. At 1-5, there’s close to a zero percent chance that the Ravens will be able to rebound and compete with the top AFC contenders.

Trading away Andrews would also be logical. The Oklahoma product’s departure from Baltimore feels inevitable, especially with him set to hit unrestricted free agency in the spring anyway.

The Los Angeles Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers immediately come to mind as teams that could be in the tight market. Tyler Higbee is on the decline for Los Angeles, so adding a new face to the position group in Andrews would be a savvy move.

Jacksonville desperately needs production from its tight end room, especially with Brenton Strange out with a hip injury. Tampa Bay doesn’t have a hole at the position, but reuniting Andrews with Baker Mayfield would be absolutely electric. The pair were college teammates for a few years at Oklahoma.

On the open market, the Ravens could net an early Day 3 pick for Andrews, and may be able to acquire even more draft capital by trading other expiring veterans. General manager Eric DeCosta has to consider selling assets at the deadline and planning for the future after the season.
