Ravens trade proposal adds projected $41 million star running back to help Derrick Henry

The Baltimore Ravens will return one of the NFL’s most potent rushing attacks in 2025, led by superstar running back Derrick Henry. The five-time Pro Bowler is coming off another fantastic season and is still one of the most dominant players in football despite being 31 years old.

Henry showed little signs of decline last year and can still be relied upon to be a workhorse, but Last Word on Sports’ Anthony Palacios believes Baltimore should take some pressure off the veteran by trading for Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker.

The Ravens will eventually need a long-term running back behind star veteran Derrick Henry. Even though there’s a lot of hope that Keaton Mitchell is the rising talent, there’s no guarantee that he can fortify the backfield behind him. Perhaps, the team could trade for Walker if Mitchell is serious about giving Henry relief for the majority of the 2025 season to keep him fresh for the postseason.

Walker is incredibly talented, but the Seahawks could look to trade him, as he is entering the final year of his deal and posted a career-low in rushing yards in 2024. The Michigan State product also missed six games last season, and Seattle has a potential replacement on the roster in Zach Charbonnet.

If the Seahawks decide to move on from Walker, the Ravens would be an exciting landing spot. A duo of Henry and Walker in the backfield would be lethal, and they would take a ton of pressure off quarterback Lamar Jackson and the passing game.

Additionally, Walker is still young and could be the eventual replacement for Henry, who is also set to hit free agency next offseason.

Though Walker would be an electric addition to Baltimore’s offense, trading for him at this moment wouldn’t make much sense. The Ravens already have a deep running back room, and general manager Eric DeCosta likely doesn’t want to add another player on an expiring contract to the position group.

Walker will likely remain on the Seahawks roster heading into the 2025 campaign, as he still has a lot of promise, and Seattle needs some continuity on offense after losing multiple starters this offseason, including quarterback Geno Smith, wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, and more. However, don’t rule out a potential Walker trade in the future.
