Ravens power rankings: Where Baltimore stands ahead of training camp

The Baltimore Ravens likely cannot wait for the 2025 season to begin.

The team consistently has one of the best rosters in the league, but they have yet to reach a Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson. That could change this season, as the team has another elite roster and even more valuable playoff experience.

It’s now mid-July, which means training camp is about to start and the regular season is right around the corner. As a result, power rankings are starting to come out, as analysts try to predict who will be the top team this season.

Today, let’s take a look at where the Ravens are currently sitting in some notable rankings.

Kristopher Knox, Bleacher Report: 4th

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has the Ravens at the four spot. The Bills, Chiefs, and Eagles are the only teams ahead of the Ravens in Knox’s rankings.

Regarding this placement, Knox offered the following:

The post-draft addition of cornerback Jaire Alexander didn’t really change my opinion of the Ravens, though I already had Baltimore as a top-five contender and the team to beat in the AFC North. I like what GM Eric DeCosta did this offseason overall, and I expect the defense to experience fewer early struggles under second-year coordinator Zach Orr. I’d still like to see Lamar Jackson prove he can beat Buffalo, Cincinnati or Kansas City in a playoff game, but if Jackson stays healthy, I expect him to have that chance in January.

As Knox mentioned, the Ravens still have an elite roster. However, Lamar Jackson has to prove he can beat the AFC’s elite teams before the Ravens move up.

Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk: 4th

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is one of the most recognized names in football media. Florieo routinely updates his power rankings, and he has the Ravens one spot higher than Moton at 4th.

Regarding this placement, Florio simply offered “The window is still wide open, but the Bills and Chiefs are still blocking full daylight.”

ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI): 3rd

ESPN’s Pro Football Index is the highest on the Ravens, having the team at 3rd. The model only has the Eagles and Chiefs ahead of the Ravens.

FPI is a predictive rating system that estimates a team’s strength based on various factors and simulates game outcomes to project future performance. The model has the Ravens finishing with a 10-7 record with a 76.2% chance to make the playoffs and a 51.7% chance to win the division. The Ravens are also given the fourth-best percent chance to win the Super Bowl in 2025.
