The Baltimore Ravens have a few players on their roster who could win major awards in 2025, including safety Kyle Hamilton.
Hamilton has been one of the best safeties in football since entering the league in 2022. The 24-year-old has been selected to two straight Pro Bowls, earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2023, and second-team All-Pro honors in 2024.
Though it is rare for safeties to win major awards, such as Defensive Player of the Year, Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski lists Hamilton as a candidate to win DPOY in 2025. Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II was the recipient of the award in 2024.
“The Ravens made sure they found the perfect complementary piece to keep Hamilton where he should be, with this year’s first-round selection of Georgia’s Malaki Starks. With Starks holding up his end of the bargain, Hamilton can resume being the best safety in the game on one of the NFL’s top squads,” Sobleski wrote.
In order to win Defensive Player of the Year, Hamilton will need to increase his interception numbers. The Notre Dame product snagged just one pick last year, but he did have four in 2023.
Due to the selection of Malaki Starks in Round 1 of April’s draft, Hamilton will get to move back to strong safety, the position he played during his first two seasons. The former first-round pick is most comfortable there, and playing next to Starks should bring the best out of Hamilton.
Taking home Defensive Player of the Year will be tough for Hamilton, as there are a plethora of potent pass rushers and shutdown corners who will also be contending for the award. However, if there is a safety in football who can win the prestigious honor, it’s the Ravens superstar.
