Raptors in mix for Duke’s Cooper Flagg in NBA Draft lottery

The Toronto Raptors already have a roster full of lanky, intriguing playmakers.

How about one more, the best of the bunch?

Duke’s Cooper Flagg is officially entered into the 2025 NBA Draft, which means every one of the 14 non-playoff teams has a chance to add him.

Flagg is the presumed No. 1 pick after the 6-foot-10 phenom led the Blue Devils in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks en route to the Final Four.

The Raptors have the league’s seventh-best odds of landing the No. 1 pick via the draft lottery.

Toronto’s odds are set at 7.5 percent.

That’s about half of what the favorites get, a 14 percent chance each for the Jazz, Wizards and Hornets.

It makes the possibility of Flagg coming up north a legitimate one.

The Maine native certainly wouldn’t mind the snow and the cold. It’s what he was raised on.

The Raptors are more likely to end up in that ballpark of No. 7 overall, where they could wind up with one of Flagg’s freshman teammates from Duke, Kon Knueppel or Khaman Maluach.

But even just the slightest possibility of pairing Flagg with Scottie Barnes and company is one that should excite Raptors fans.

Toronto needs its next superstar to revitalize its basketball team. There would be no bigger get than Cooper Flagg.
