Fans of the Denver Broncos have been talking about the NFL Draft for months, speculating as to what the team will do in this season’s selection process. Hundreds upon hundreds of mock drafts have been produced, but there is still no clear indication as to which route the team will take, at least in the first round.
The Broncos hold the No. 20 overall pick in the first round and several players at several positions are going to be considered with that choice. After taking in all of the thoughts from the outside and considering what the team has already done this offseason, these are the five players I feel are most likely to be drafted by the Broncos with that pick.
They will be ranked in descending order from least to most likely. These rankings are not based on overall talent, they are based on the odds of the team drafting that particular player.
Denver Broncos’ 5 most likely 2025 NFL Draft first-round picks
No. 5: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Tetairoa McMillan slides onto the list because there is a slight chance some highly skilled players will fall in this draft if teams chase a quarterback such as Jaxson Dart.
McMillan has been discussed before and I believe him falling to Denver could be one of the team’s dream scenarios in this draft, as he is the best wide receiver prospect in this class. He is an athletic, big-bodied wide receiver, just like Sean Payton likes them. His ability to win in contested catch situations is second to none and the Broncos would be getting a true difference-maker with this selection.
No. 4: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
Colston Loveland would be much higher on this list, likely in the No. 1 spot, if the Broncos didn’t add Evan Engram in free agency. That changes this, though the team should still add another tight end in this draft.

Looking at the consensus of the thousands of mock drafts presented to the NFL Mock Draft Database, Loveland is the player most chosen to be the pick made by the Broncos.
No. 3: Luther Burden, WR, Missouri
How the Broncos see Luther Burden in this class depends on how much you believe the team loves its current wide receiver room. There are plenty who say the team likes the current group much more than the outside world does, but the Broncos did bring Burden in for a top 30 prospect visit this week.
Burden was the No. 1 wide receiver prospect in this class when the college football season began and he is going to be a great addition to an NFL offense.
No. 2: Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan
The Broncos re-signed D.J. Jones this offseason but the team is going to have to add to the defensive line, particularly with both Zach Allen and John Franklin-Myers looking for extensions.
Kenneth Grant is a big, run-stuffing defender with upside as a pass-rusher.
No. 1: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
This just seems like the player the Broncos are going to fall on. The offense is missing a dynamic player at the running back position and while this draft offers a deep class and perhaps better value options in later rounds (Kaleb Johnson, Iowa), the talent of Hampton may be too much for Payton to pass on.
The Broncos will need to be wary of the Los Angeles Chargers trading up from right behind them to nab him.
