Rangers predicted to shock NHL, sign predicted $17M 100-point scorer

It was a terrible year for the New York Rangers, and as a result, they decided to make some changes to the higher-ups in the organization. The Rangers had to make moves, and they did, so, at the very least, it was a step in the right direction in some sense.

However, with more questions over the next few months, the Rangers have a few elephants in the room.

There are a few ways to fix them, and one of them could be by signing Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In a recent prediction from Bleacher Report’s Joe Yerdon, he listed the Rangers as a potential landing spot.

“The problem with all of that, though, is the salary cap can get in the way of throwing money at your problems. If the Rangers were going to make a run at Marner, they’re going to need to get their finances in order. That would mean moving on from veterans such as Chris Kreider or making other trades to free up money.

“That’s a lot of other work to get done to add a top player, but it’s the exact kind of thing you do to make that happen. It’s a long shot, for sure, but it would surely be worth it to add a player of Marner’s caliber,” he wrote.

Marner would be an excellent addition to New York and would fit right in with the excellent city that the Rangers could offer him.

However, with the Rangers having a few financial constraints, things won’t be easy. Despite that, he’s the type of player that the Rangers need to get creative for, as he’s clearly one of the top 10 players in the league.
