The three NHL teams in New York state are about to have a bit of a trade party.
Well, it’ll be a good time for at least one of them.
The Buffalo Sabres are shopping winger JJ Peterka, according to multiple reports.
And the New York Rangers and New York Islanders are both interested, according to Daily Faceoff.
That same report indicates that the Blackhawks, Lightning and Canucks have all expressed interest in Peterka, too.
Peterka is a restricted free agent, so his status is still up in the air for next season.

Formerly a second-round pick, Peterka scored 28 goals in 2023-24 before really expanding his distribution in this past season.
The Rangers and Islanders could both use a speedy winger like Peterka to improve their rosters as they try to climb up the Eastern Conference.
And the Sabres? Well, they are stuck in an eternal rebuild, and trading away Peterka would just be the latest chapter in that depressing story.
