The New York Rangers’ goalie depth might be taking a hit.
Rather than bringing back Louis Domingue, the Rangers are on the verge of seeing the 33-year old journeyman head to Russia.
Russian media reports that Domingue is set up to sign with Sibir Novosibirsk in the KHL.
Domingue spent most of the 2024-25 season in the AHL, where he had a 3.32 goals against average.
He made one Rangers appearance, notching 25 saves in a January victory.
In total, Domingue has played for seven NHL teams across 144 games. He has a 61-60-10 record in the NHL with a 3.01 GAA and a 90.6 save percentage.

Domingue has added 226 starts in the AHL.
At this stage in free agency, the fact that Domingue hadn’t signed suggested he might not be a desired option for teams seeking goalie depth.
That sets up this probable journey to the KHL.
