The Miami Dolphins’ 2025 season is shaping up to be one of the most scrutinized in the NFL — and now one of the greatest wide receivers of all time has weighed in.
Randy Moss, in town to promote his restaurant Crisppi’s as part of a new partnership with the Dolphins, spoke briefly about Miami’s roster outlook while keeping it brutally honest about where he sees Tyreek Hill among today’s stars.
“I think it’s going to be pretty interesting,” Moss said of the upcoming season, per David Furones of the Sun Sentinel. “Bringing Minkah [Fitzpatrick] back, trading Jalen [Ramsey] — with all the drama and things off the field that’s been going on, I’m just looking for a big year for this offense — Tua [Tagovailoa] and Tyreek Hill, mainly.”
But when asked where Hill ranks among great wide receivers, Moss didn’t hold back.
“He’s nowhere all-time,” Moss said flatly. “Where is he at in today’s game? Tyreek Hill is probably top five. I put him top five.”
That might not sit well with Hill, whose frustration with the Dolphins has simmered since last season. He left quarterback Tua Tagovailoa off a TikTok list of top QBs and has continued to be the subject of trade speculation — especially after the team moved on from Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith earlier this offseason.

Fox Sports’ Henry McKenna previously warned that a Hill departure would be disastrous for the offense.
“Tagovailoa has only been successful with Tyreek, and that’s because Tyreek gets the most out of a quick-game master like Tua,” McKenna wrote. “If Hill goes, might things get worse for Tua? (Hint: Yes, almost definitely.)”
Miami has already undergone major change, swapping out stars and restructuring contracts. Bringing in Fitzpatrick and Darren Waller were splashy moves, but coach Mike McDaniel’s future — and Tagovailoa’s — still appears tied to whether Hill stays engaged and explosive.
Even CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr noted that Hill’s discontent could eventually lead to a separation, but not just yet.
“Perhaps Hill forces a trade out of Miami at some point, but it won’t be in training camp,” Kerr wrote. “The Dolphins are still playoff contenders when their offensive stars are healthy, and this is a make-it-or-break-it year for Mike McDaniel.”
If the Dolphins are going to turn things around, it will require more than just Hill’s speed. It’ll take chemistry, consistency — and maybe a little less noise.
Still, when one of the best receivers in NFL history puts you in his top five today but says “nowhere all-time,” the pressure to prove yourself only increases.
