Raiders trade proposal sends premium NFL draft picks to Commanders for $68 million star receiver

The Las Vegas Raiders could use another dynamic receiver to pair with Jakobi Meyers and All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers, and one NFL analyst proposes a deal that would land Chip Kelly’s offense a bonafide star playmaker in Terry McLaurin.

Bleacher Report’s Mitch Milani proposed a trade between the Raiders and the Washington Commanders that would send McLaurin and a seventh-round pick to Las Vegas for a second-round and fourth-round pick.

McLaurin is seeking an extension from the Commanders as he is entering the final year of his deal. However, Washington hasn’t shown much urgency in getting a deal done with their star receiver, which has caused McLaurin to grow frustrated and skip mandatory minicamp.

If the Commanders can’t sign McLaurin to a long-term extension, Las Vegas should target him. The 29-year-old would immediately step in as the No.1 boundary receiver for quarterback Geno Smith and form an electric duo with Bowers.

Acquiring McLaurin would also allow Meyers to be the No.2 receiver, a role he is more comfortable in, and also let rookies Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton develop behind experienced veterans.

The Raiders have the draft capital and cap space to trade for McLaurin and sign him to a new contract. If he becomes available for trade, adding the two-time Pro Bowl receiver is a no-brainer for Las Vegas, though it still seems unlikely that McLaurin won’t be a Commander for the foreseeable future.
