Raiders offensive, defensive coordinator rumors: Latest updates on Las Vegas’ search

The Las Vegas Raiders have turned the page to yet another new chapter in team history after the franchise fired Antonio Pierce and Tom Telesco and hired Pete Carroll and John Spytek to replace them.

Spytek comes over from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he served as the assistant general manager for the past two years and previously worked with minority owner Tom Brady.

Meanwhile, Carroll brings decades of coaching experience with him to Las Vegas. And, in what is no doubt significant, both Spytek and Carroll have Super Bowl hardware to show for their hard work over the years.

The Raiders introduced both Carroll and Spytek via a press conference on Monday, and now it’s time to get to work. The first order of business will be to fill out the coaching staff under Carroll, including the offensive and defensive coordinator positions.

From there, the Raiders have many personnel decisions to make, the most important of which is at the quarterback position, where the Raiders are in a familiar spot.

The franchise is once again looking for someone who can hold down the fort for the long haul, something it failed to do with the Gardner Minshew-Aidan O’Connell pairing in 2024.

Thanks to his many years as a coach, both in the NFL and in college, Carroll has quite the expansive rolodex that will no doubt help him fill out his staff, a process that has reportedly already begun.
