The Las Vegas Raiders need to add more help in the wide receivers room this offseason. As currently constructed, the Raiders have a solid No. 2 wideout in Jakobi Meyers and a depth piece in Tre Tucker, but not much else. Tight end Brock Bowers remains the team’s most talented pass-catcher.
Las Vegas needs a No. 1 wide receiver for quarterback Geno Smith, but also more depth. The latter need is why the Raiders recently kicked the tires on their former wide receiver, Hunter Renfrow, who the team brought in for a visit last month.
However, it doesn’t appear a reunion is going to happen, at least for now. Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports that the two sides aren’t going to link up, although the Raiders could re-visit signing Renfrow after the draft.
“It doesn’t sound like the reunion is going to happen. Though the Raiders could always revisit it after the draft,” Tafur said of Renfrow.
A former fifth-round pick of the Raiders, Renfrow proved to be a very reliable target over his first two years in the NFL before he had a breakout campaign in 2021 that saw him tally 1,038 yards and nine scores en route to a Pro Bowl. That showing led to Renfrow landing a two-year, $32.3 million contract extension.

Unfortunately, things went south for Renfrow in the years that followed. Renfrow missed seven games in 2022 due to injury, and then tallied a career-low 255 yards during the 2023 campaign, which led to him getting cut in 2024.
Renfrow didn’t latch on with any team last season but has made it known he intends on playing in 2025. But he’s a total wild card after a year off and with the veteran slated to turn 30 in December.
A reunion with Renfrow would make sense for the Raiders, but clearly that isn’t in the cards just yet. It’s possible Las Vegas is interested but just wants to see how things shake out in the draft before investing in the veteran wide receiver.
