Raiders defender suspended for violating NFL’s Substances of Abuse policy

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Janarius Robinson has been suspended by the NFL for three games for violating the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy.

Robinson, who will be suspended without pay, is now out for the rest of the season, seeing as how there’s only three games left. There are no further specifics about what Robinson tested positive for.

A former fourth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, Robinson joined the Raiders last season and managed to stick with the team through the 2024 campaign.

He was able to get some extra run over the first three weeks of the season but has played sparingly since. In 10 games (one start), Robinson has half of a sack, five tackles, two QB hits and one pass defensed.

In 2023, Robinson appeared in six games (two starts) for Las Vegas, tallying one sack, eight tackles (one for loss) and two QB hits.

It has been a rough span of a week for Raiders defensive ends. Charles Snowden was arrested last Tuesday for DUI and now faces a misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to a police report, Snowden was found passed out behind the wheel of a Jeep Cherokee, which was sitting on top of a retaining wall with the engine still running. Snowden’s blood-alcohol content was over twice the legal limit.

“Mr. Snowden will be entering a not guilty plea and we will respond in court, which is the appropriate forum,” Snowden’s lawyers wrote.

The Raiders will be back in action on Sunday, when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Allegiant Stadium.
