PSG are edging closer to finalising the signing of Illia Zabarnyi, according to talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook.
Reportedly, PSG and Bournemouth have reached an agreement on a fixed fee of €63m [$73m], although the final details regarding add-ons are still being ironed out.
Reportedly, the personal terms were settled some time ago, with Zabarnyi’s representatives and PSG shaking hands on a deal that would keep the Ukrainian centre-back at the Parc des Princes until 2030.
However, negotiations between the clubs previously stalled over transfer fee disagreements. PSG reportedly submitted an initial bid worth €60m [$70m] plus bonuses which Bournemouth felt fell short of their valuation.
The Premier League side were reportedly holding out for an additional €3m [$3.4m] in variables and had grown increasingly frustrated as the French champions showed little willingness to close the gap.
PSG, fresh off a historic quadruple-winning season, are beginning to react to the cracks that showed in their Club World Cup final loss to Chelsea, where the lack of depth at centre-back was laid bare.

With Lucas Beraldo considering a move due to limited playing time, the club have prioritised strengthening that position before the new season kicks off.
Zabarnyi stood out last season under Andoni Iraola and has been on the radar of several top European sides.
If this deal crosses the finish line, it will mark yet another important addition to PSG’s squad as they prepare for another long and demanding campaign both at home and in Europe.
