Anyone who has been following the transfer window this summer will know that PSG have been targeting Bournemouth’s Illia Zabarnyi for some time now.
The 22-year-old Ukrainian defender is high on Paris’s wish list, and the club has made it clear that he’s their top defensive priority.
Talks with Bournemouth are now gaining serious momentum, with PSG stepping up efforts to land Zabarnyi as soon as possible.
According to Fabrizio Romano, fresh contact between the two clubs took place on Thursday (June 26). Zabarnyi wants the move, and the Parisians are doing everything they can to make it happen fast.
PSG wants him before Club World Cup deadline
PSG face Inter Miami in the round of 16 at the FIFA Club World Cup this Sunday, June 29.
To have Zabarnyi eligible for the tournament, they must register him by July 3, as per FIFA rules allowing two new signings.

Zabarnyi, who joined Bournemouth from Dynamo Kyiv for €24m [$28m] in January 2023, is valued at €42m [$49m] by Transfermarkt, but Bournemouth already turned down PSG’s second offer, reportedly worth €64m [$74m], and are demanding at least €82m [$96m].
To speed up negotiations, PSG recently moved their pre-season base from the west coast to the east coast of the United States, cutting the time difference with France from nine hours to six.
