As the January transfer window edges nearer, several top clubs seem to each have a small collection of exciting names continuously linked to them in a mid-season switch.
One of the more persistent players associated with a move to Liverpool, for instance, is Brighton’s Brazilian attacker Joao Pedro.
The former Fluminense and Watford star has continued his strong performances since joining the South Coast club last year, and his name is one of the strongest linked to heading to Anfield in January.
Now, a trusted source has gone public with apparent first-hand news from within Brighton, regarding how much it would take for the deal to happen next month.
Fair warning, Liverpool fans, he doesn’t appear to come cheap.
Joao Pedro to Liverpool latest: Reported fee, will it happen?
Graeme Bailey has told Rousing The Kop that “£100m is the figure that Brighton are talking about,” with regards to their 23-year-old star.

Bailey went on to offer some background on the move from a Reds perspective, adding that they’ve been fans of Pedro for quite some time.
“Liverpool know all about him, I’m told they knew about him even before he went to Watford, so he’s someone on their radar,” claimed the experienced transfer-window specialist.
“From what I’m told it isn’t just wingers that Liverpool are looking at,” Bailey added.
“If they do decide to move on from a Darwin Nunez then they are doing their due diligence and always refreshing their reports.”
“They are doing work on these kinds of players, looking at who is next up and Pedro is one of the best in the Premier League on current form.
“He’s one who has come on their radar for sure.”
Will Joao Pedro join Liverpool?
Whether or not Bailey’s claims are accurate isn’t easy to verify, but it does all line up with the most likely scenarios.
For one, Liverpool’s interest in Pedro in recent years has indeed been corroborated by other sources over time. It’s hard to disagree there.
And, £100 million is the current starting figure du jour that sides who do not want to sell a star player (unless they can cash in big time) throw at potential suitors to either scare them off, or guarantee such a departure does indeed rake in the funds to replace and renew.
It’s hard to tell whether this is 100% correct unless someone at Brighton says as much, but they wouldn’t be the first team to slap a nine-figure price tag on a prized asset and they won’t be the last.
