Barcelona could be forced to loan out midfield star Dani Olmo for the second-half of the 2024/25 season.
As part of the latest episode in Barcelona’s ongoing financial soap opera, Olmo’s La Liga registration expires at the start of 2025, with the club yet to confirm his continuation.
Part of the agreement to sign Olmo from RB Leipzig in the summer involved a salary agreement with La Liga over the 26-year-old.

That included part of Olmo’s salary being covered by re-purposed funds from the wages of injured players but that deal is only in put in place until the end of December.
Following a court appeal rejection of Barcelona’s request to extend Olmo’s registration into 2025, the club are now desperately aiming to raise the rumoured €60m needed to wrap up his registration.
With the saga stretching on, Barcelona could be forced to do without Olmo in the coming months, but the Catalan giants are not looking for a sale.
As per reports from TBR Football, a six-month loan for Olmo could be an option, allowing Barcelona to bring him back into the fold ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The report adds Olmo is open to a short-term Premier League loan with a host of English sides interested in him prior to joining Barcelona in August.
Arsenal and Manchester City are rumoured to have registered a firm interest in a loan offer alongside Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Olmo’s preference would be for England, having already played in the Bundesliga, but Barcelona will aim to avoid losing such a key player unless they are forced to do so.
