Just a few hours after Newcastle United’s vital 2-0 win over Chelsea, Bruno Guimaraes’ agent lit up social media and apparently wants the Midfielder’s statue the St James’ Park.
Alexis Malavolta, Guimaraes’ agent, posted a message on X praising his client’s impact, saying, “Today I am sure that you Bruno Guimaraes have become a Legend for the rest of history for all Newcastle fans! The tribute came weeks after Guimaraes captained Newcastle to their first trophy in 56 years, lifting the Carabao Cup after a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Wembley.
Malavolta had already praised Guimaraes after that final, But Sunday’s win over Chelsea rekindled that sentiment.
Sharing a photo of Guimaraes raising the corner flag post-match, Malavolta wrote, “Here is the official photo of his future statue in St James’ Park.”
Guimaraes capped the match with a deflected 90th-minute goal, sealing three points in a high-stakes clash.
Sandro Tonali had earlier opened the scoring for the hosts, ghosting in at the far post to convert Jacob Murphy’s cross in the second minute.
Chelsea’s hopes collapsed in the 35th minute when Nicolas Jackson was sent off after a VAR review upgraded his yellow to red for elbowing Dan Burn.
With two matches left, Newcastle sits third with 66 points, three above Chelsea in fifth. Champions League qualification is now firmly in reach.
