The Philadelphia Phillies are currently in a good position as the month of July nears. They lead the National League Wild Card race and are just two games back of the New York Mets in the NL East.
There are still some areas of the roster that could use some work, however. Center field is one of those areas.
Brandon Marsh has produced at the plate, but not so much in center field, so they could use a little bit of help.
Matt Grazel of FanSided listed three Boston Red Sox players the Phillies could target, and among them was utility man Rob Refsnyder.
“Outfielder Rob Refsnyder, another Red Sox pending free agent, is a candidate to be traded. The Phillies should consider acquiring him, as he has experience playing all three outfield positions. He has played the most games in left field (172) in his career, followed by right (133) and center (54),” wrote Grazel.

Refsnyder would give the Phillies a right-handed bat that can play all three outfield positions. He’s having a strong year with Boston, hitting .307/.400/.533 with four home runs, 12 RBI and a .933 OPS in 75 at-bats.
He is somebody that could benefit from having more playing time in Philadelphia than he otherwise would in Boston. This would allow Philadelphia to shift Marsh back to left field and have a better option in center field.
The 34-year-old is in the final year of his contract, and as a utility man, he shouldn’t cost too much.
But the Phillies could certainly use him as they try to balance out their lineup and improve their outfield for a run down the stretch.
We’ll see where the Phillies land.
