PGA Championship 2024 live updates: Round 4 leaderboard after Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy fall back

Another similarity to last month’s Masters was the sight of Bryson DeChambeau pulling out a remarkable shot at the 18th on his third round, propelling him into final-day contention.

In April it was a birdie. Last night’s eagle was chipped in from much closer and the celebration was limited to an exhilarating fist pump, but the impact was the same.

And once again, DeChambeau headed straight onto the practice range to simmer down from the excitement. Can he do it this time on the Sunday? Here’s what he said to Sky Sports shortly after that eagle.

💬 “I was so pumped. It was a lot of grinding today and I was just happy to finish off with a four and give myself a good shot for Sunday.

“I know it has only been a few years (since winning his only major in 2020). After that I though I’d go on a tear and I wasn’t able to do it.

“It’s been a bit frustrating but I’m so glad to be hear, I’m blessed, and I’m excited for tomorrow.”
