Pep Guardiola not worried about chasing Arsenal for Premier League title

Manchester City failed to beat Aston Villa at the weekend, with a Matty Cash goal being the only score of the game.

Erling Haaland could not continue his hot scoring streak, which had seen him score in 12 successive games for club and country.

Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace, thanks to a stunning Eberechi Eze goal.

Arsenal now sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League table, but Pep Guardiola remains unfazed by the point differential and the chase for the title.

What did Guardiola say about the title race?

Guardiola spoke on the loss and how it impacts the title race, and the coach said, “Arsenal have been solid for many years. This time the concern is how we can improve, better, better, better, and to be close.

“From my experience, it [the season] is so long. So long. This is my experience. There are many teams there.

“I was worried before the international break when we were 14th in the table.”

City have been on a rampage after a slow start to the season, in part due to Haaland’s goals. The Norwegian has scored 11 goals in the league this season.

Guardiola added, “If they win all their games and win the Premier League, congratulate them, that’s all we can do.

“But I have to feel the team is alive, the team is good. I don’t know how many teams can come here and play the way we played, with the courage, possession, and chances.

“We have to be stable with that. And after that, to deal with games better.

“But I don’t live in October and November thinking, ‘Oh what is going to happen if we don’t win the Premier League,’ so it’s game by game now.”
