Following his loss in Super Bowl 59, Patrick Mahomes appears to be changing some things up.
The superstar Chiefs quarterback has long sported a grown-out mohawk hairstyle, something he’s kept for years as he’s hoisted the Lombardi Trophy on three occasions.
But Tuesday, recent pictures of Mahomes made their way around social media, as he opted for a shorter haircut ahead of the NFL offseason.
Here’s a look at Mahomes’ new haircut as he turns the page from the 2024 season to 2025.

Mahomes has had the same mohawk for years, as it’s become part of his known look since his Texas Tech days. In 2023, on the Netflix series “Quarterback,” he said it would be his “last year with the hair.”
“Going with different hair next year,” Mahomes said, per USA Today. “I can’t have two kids and a mohawk.”
Ultimately, he kept the grown-out style for another year. But now, Mahomes is sticking to his original word, changing his haircut for a shorter style.

Of course, NFL fans had some fun with Mahomes’ new look on social media.
Some blamed the Eagles for Mahomes’ haircut after they blew out the Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59:

Others saw it as a good omen, predicting that the shorter haircut will lead Mahomes to more success in the 2025 season.
