Packers vs. Eagles final score, results: Philadelphia defense dominates in ugly win vs. Green Bay

On paper, the Philadelphia Eagles look like a team that can get into a track meet and take on anyone. With guys like Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith on the roster, their offensive talent appears to be overwhelming.

However, beating teams to a pulp with their offensive firepower hasn’t been their MO this season. Instead, they’ve leaned on the league’s No. 1 defense while regularly putting together long, drawn-out drives on the back of Barkley to suffocate their opponents.

This is exactly what they did on Sunday afternoon against the Green Bay Packers in a 22-10 victory. The stout Philly defense put on a clinic, surrendering just two scoring drives while picking off Jordan Love three times. On the other side of the ball, Barkley picked up 119 yards on 25 carries and played a key role in putting the game away.

Jalen Hurts (13-for-21, 131 yards, two passing TDs) didn’t play his best, but he didn’t make key mistakes like Love (20-for-33, 212 yards, 0 TDs, 3 INTs). Josh Jacobs (121 total yards, TD) was easily Green Bay’s best weapon, but he went down with a late leg injury, joining Romeo Doubs (concussion) and Jayden Reed (shoulder) on the sidelines.

The Philadelphia offense didn’t look great in this physical affair — most notably A.J. Brown, who was limited to 10 yards on one reception — but it was a comfortable win nonetheless thanks to a +4 turnover margin.

The Eagles will head to the divisional round next weekend, where their opponent is not yet known. If Washington beats Tampa Bay on Sunday night, Philadelphia will be at home to face the winner of the Vikings-Rams game as they look to avenge their Super Bowl defeat from two years ago.

The Sporting News tracked all the key plays from Philadelphia’s wild-card win over Green Bay blow.

Packers vs. Eagles highlights from 2025 NFL wild-card playoff game

(All times Eastern)

Final: Eagles 22, Packers 10

7:48 p.m.  — Saquon Barkley puts the game on ice. He could have taken this one to the house, but he slides to allow Jalen Hurts to kneel the ball out.

7:46 p.m. INTERCEPTION — And this game is all but over. In a desperation heave intended for Bo Melton, Love is picked off by DROY candidate Quinyon Mitchell. It’s Love’s third INT of the night and effectively ends the game.

7:42 p.m.  — Somehow, Green Bay is able to recover and pick up a first down. Emanuel Wilson takes a checkdown 23 yards to move the chains.

7:41 p.m.  — Right after the injury to Meyers and the sack, the Packers continue to shoot themselves in the foot. A holding call sets up 2nd & 23. It’s just not the Packers’ night.

7:36 p.m.  — The Packers just can’t stay healthy tonight. Center Josh Meyers is down on the field after the first play of the drive. To make matters even worse, Love was wrapped up for his second sack of the evening.

Eagles 22, Packers 10

7:33 p.m. FIELD GOAL — After burning nearly two minutes off the clock, Jake Elliott lines up for his third field goal of the game. He punches it in, extending the Eagles’ lead to 12 points

7:30 p.m.  — The Eagles are keeping up with the Barkley runs after the penalty on Green Bay. They feed him the rock three more times, ultimately leading to gains of zero, two, and four yards.

7:26 p.m.  — Unsurprisingly, Philadelphia is turning to Saquon Barkley to put this game away. This drive began with two straight carries to Barkley, resulting in just four yards. However, Barkely drew an unnecessary roughness penalty on the Green Bay defense after the second carry, resulting in an automatic first down.

7:22 p.m.  TURNOVER ON DOWNS — After a couple of short gains, the Packers are left with a pivotal 4th & 3. Love hooks up with backup receiver Malik Heath on the sidelines, but he can’t get his feet down. The Eagles make a massive stop! This game is slipping away from the Packers.

Eagles 19, Packers 10

7:15 p.m. FIELD GOAL  — Philadelphia simply can’t recover from the two holding penalties. After another solid carry from Hurts, the Eagles are left with fourth and long. Elliott trots out onto the filed and knocks in the 30-yarder. With that kick, the Eagles’ lead is extended to two scores

7:12 p.m.  — Hurts has a strong run on second down, but it’s another play negated by a hold. Hurts will lose those yards and we’ll replay the down after re-spotting the ball.

7:10 p.m.  — With the Eagles set up 1st & 10 on the Packers’ 14 yard-line, DeVonta Smith is flagged for a hold, knocking them back 10 yards.

7:06 p.m.  — Hurts lines up for the Tush Push and they actually run their patented play, converting on 4th & 1 with ease.

7:05 p.m.  — The Eagles bust out the Tush Push for the first time today, but it’s a fake! Hurts drops back to pass and just can’t connect with A.J. Brown.

Eagles 16, Packers 10

7:01 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Josh Jacobs caps off the drive with a one-yard rushing touchdown. He’s single-handedly keeping the Packers in this one. We’ve got a one-score game!

7:00 p.m.  — As the broadcast returns from commercial break, Jayden Reed has been declared questionable to return.

End of third quarter: Eagles 16, Packers 3

6:57 p.m.  — These two offenses are playing bully ball. It’s Josh Jacobs turn this time and he drags multiple defenders down to the one-yard line. He’s providing the spark that Green Bay desperately needs.

6:55 p.m.  — Without his top three receivers, Love is still able to move the ball through the air. He hooks up with Wicks in traffic for 10 yards to convert on third down.

6:53 p.m.  — The Green Bay wide receiver room is taking a beating. Jayden Reed absorbs a hit from Reed Blankenship and leaves the field favoring his arm. The Packers are going to need plenty of production from Josh Jacobs to overcome these injuries.

Eagles 16, Packers 3

6:47 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Dallas Goedert delivers the play of the game! He adjusts to make a nice grab and then delivers a couple of vicious stiff arms on his way to the endzone! Jake Elliott misses the extra point, failing to pick up the seventh point on the drive.

6:45 p.m.  — The Eagles haven’t been able to get anything going since the first quarter, but DeVonta Smith is here to save the day. He finds himself wide open downfield and Hurts finds him for 28 yards.

Eagles 10, Packers 3

6:39 p.m. FIELD GOAL  — Love can’t get anything going in this goal-to-go scenario. He looks for Bo Melton on 3rd & Goal, but the pass is just off his fingertips. The Packers settle for another short field goal which McManus drills with ease this time.

6:37 p.m.  — Following the scary injury to Doubs, Jordan Love is faced with 3rd & 13 and goes downfield to Wicks once again. The pass falls incomplete, but Wicks is able to draw a pass interference penalty to set the Packers up with 1st & Goal.

6:35 p.m.  — Doubs is accompanied by trainers and is heading to the locker room, presumably to be evaluated for a concussion.

6:33 p.m.  — Multiple Packers coaches and players are huddled around Doubs. He remains down on the field.

6:31 p.m.  — Love is going downfield once again, this time looking for Romeo Doubs in the endzone. Multiple Eagles defenders are able to break up the pass and Doubs remains on the turf after the play. He came down quite hard on his head.

6:29 p.m.  — The Packers find themselves in third and short yet again. With multiple defenders in his face, Love goes downfield to try to generate an explosive play for the first time all day. Dontayvion Wicks makes a phenomenal play, setting the Packers up in Philadelphia territory.

6:27 p.m.  — It’s the Josh Jacobs drive so far. Two carries and a checkdown later, Jacobs has a first down on his own.

6:21 p.m.  — Jalen Hurts holds onto the ball for far too long, allowing the Green Bay pass rush to get there for the second time today. Rashan Gary’s sack forces the Eagles into 3rd & 19. Following a carry for no gain from Saquon Barkley, it’s a three-and-out for Philadelphia. Let’s see if the Packers can finally get on the board

6:18 p.m.  — Ahead of the second half kickoff, Packers’ left guard Elgton Jenkins has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Halftime: Eagles 10, Packers 0

6:03 p.m.  — The Eagles are unable to capitalize on Baun’s stellar play. They were lined up to run a play on 4th & 4, but the officials whistle for a false start on Dallas Goedert. The Packers miraculously come away without giving up any points.

6:00 p.m. INTERCEPTION  — Zach Baun was lurking in Love’s blind spot and he doesn’t see him in front of Malik Heath. Baun leaps and snatches the ball, setting Philly up for a score to close out the half.

5:58 p.m.  — Travis Glover gets bailed out yet again; Romeo Doubs picks up seven yards on third down to move the chains and keep the drive alive.

5:57 p.m.  — After being carted off, Dean has already been ruled out with a knee injury.

5:52p.m.  — The Packers are really feeling the effects of Elgton Jenkins’ absence. His replacement, Travis Glover, has picked up two holding penalties on the first three plays of this two-minute drill. Jayden Reed was able to cover for him with a 20-yard catch and run after the first penalty, but it’s 1st & 20 yet again as we head to the two-minute warning.

5:47 p.m.  — The Green Bay defense stands tall once again, wrapping up Jalen Hurts short of the sticks on third down. Jordan Love and company will get another opportunity to put some points on the board.

5:45 p.m.  — Eagles’ standout linebacker Nakobe Dean unfortunately went down with an injury towards the end of the Packers’ last drive. He was shown leaving the field on a cart. His status will be monitored as the game progresses.

5:42 p.m. MISSED FIELD GOAL — After pushing the ball into the red zone, the Packers don’t come away with any points. Brandon McManus pushes the 38-yard kick wide right, his first postseason miss of his career.

5:40 p.m.  — The Packers find themselves in third and long once yet again. It’s 3rd & 13 this time and Love does his best to play hero ball, but he can’t connect with Emanuel Wilson

5:37 p.m.  — Jordan Love puts his wheels on display for the first time today, picking up a hard-fought 11 yards on 3rd & 12. With just one yard to go on fourth down, the Packers go back to Kraft again. He’s able to fight his way up the gut for a first down. Green Bay is threatening to find the endzone for the first time today.

5:35 p.m.  — With just one yard to go on third down, the Packers snap the ball directly to Tucker  Kraft. Originally, it looked like he might be stopped short of the first down marker, but he’s able to carry the pack for eight yards.

5:33 p.m.  — Josh Jacobs keeps the Green Bay drive going with a strong five-yard run on first down. This was longest carry of the game; an explosive run would go a long way in igniting this offense.

5:28 p.m.  — The Eagles get backed up by an illegal motion penalty and can’t get anything going after falling behind schedule. They somewhat surprisingly hand the ball off to Saquon Barkley on 3rd & 12 but he’s only able to pick up eight yards. It’ll be a quick punt for Philly.

5:24 p.m. INTERCEPTION — Jordan Love takes his first deep shot of the game and it’s picked off! Love was looking for Wicks, but Darius “Big Play” Slay gets in the way and comes away with the ball!

5:22 p.m.  — The first quarter has wrapped up and it’s been all Eagles through 15 minutes. Philadelphia has outgained Green Bay 103-16 thus far.

End of first quarter: Eagles 10, Packers 0

5:19 p.m.  — Packers’ Pro Bowl offensive guard Elgton Jenkins took a hit to his arm/shoulder and left the game earlier in the first quarter. He’s officially questionable to return.

Eagles 10, Packers 0

5:17 p.m. FIELD GOAL  — Philadelphia couldn’t get anything going on this set of downs. Three straight passes from Jalen Hurts fall incomplete and they’re forced to settle for a field goal. A crucial stop for the Packers.

5:15 p.m.  — With a couple of respectable gains and 10-yard reception for DeVonta Smith, the Eagles are in the red zone once again. It’s 1st & 10 from the 14-yard line.

5:12 p.m.  — It looks like we could be in for another signature Saquon Barkley game. He kicks of the Eagles’ drive with yet another explosive run, weaving through the Green Bay secondary for 17 yards.

5:08 p.m.  — It’s 3rd and short yet again, but Love can’t find a receiver this time. Nolan Smith breaks through the offensive line and brings Love down in the backfield for a sack. The Packers punt it away yet again.

5:06 p.m.  — Jordan Love finds trusty tight end Tucker Kraft for a first down on a a 3rd and short. It’s Love’s first completion of the game and kicks off what will ideally be a scoring drive for Green Bay.

5:00 p.m.  — Rookie Javon Bullard wraps up Saquon Barkley on a crucial third down to stop the Philadelphia offense dead in its tracks. The Packers will look to get things going on their second drive.

4:58 p.m.  — On his first target of the game, A.J. Brown gets low and hauls in a reception for a first down. The Philadelphia offense is humming once again.

4:54 p.m.  — After a short run on 2nd down and a throw away from Love on 3rd and long, it’s a quick three-and-out for the Packers. Jalen Hurts and company will be back on the field yet again.

4:52 p.m.  — Packers’ quarterback Jordan Love is off to a bit of a shaky start. He airmails Dontayvion Wicks on his first pass attempt on the game and it’s nearly picked off by C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

Eagles 7, Packers 0

4:47 p.m. TOUCHDOWN  — With all day to operate, Jalen Hurts takes his time in the pocket and finds the open man. He hooks up with Jahan Dotson in the back of the endzone for Dotson’s first touchdown in an Eagles uniform!

4:45 p.m.  — Saquon Barkley gets things going on the first play of the game with a nifty spin move and a broken tackle. Philadelphia is already threatening in the red zone.

4:42 p.m. FUMBLE — It only takes one play for the excitement to get going in this one! After fielding Jake Elliott’s kick, Packers’ return man Keisean Nixon fumbles the ball on an explosive hit and the Eagles recover!

4:37 p.m. — As the national anthem rings throughout the stadium, a bald eagle takes flight over the field! Kickoff is here, let’s play some football!

4:28 p.m. — Originally slated to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET, it appears the game will be get going a bit late. Fans will have to be a bit patient for this one to get going.

4:20 p.m. — Kickoff is just minutes away and all eyes will be on the two stud running backs, Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs. Both in their first year with their respective teams, Barkley and Jacobs will be key pieces of their team’s offensive success.

4:05 p.m. — As the Packers’ defense prepares to take the field against the formidable Philadelphia offense, they’ve spent the week receiving help from one of the league’s premier defensive minds in Robert Saleh. Although he’s not formally a coach on the team, Saleh’s presence will certainly help out this defensive unit.

3:50 p.m. — With gametime rapidly approaching, players are wrapping up their pregame warmups and the seats are starting to fill up at Lincoln Financial Field.

3:15 p.m. — Kenny Pickett has dealing with a rib issue for the last few weeks and there were some questions as to how the QB room would look behind Hurts. It appears that Pickett is healthy as he’s not among the Eagles’ inactives.

2:20 p.m. — Jordan Love has arrived at The Linc as well. Dressed up in a suit with a Louis Vuitton duffel bag, Love clearly means business.

2:05 p.m. — After working through concussion protocol over the last few weeks, Jalen Hurts is ready to roll. The Eagles’ QB1 is in the building as Philadelphia prepares for yet another playoff run
