Packers superstar inches toward franchise record in loss to Vikings

The Green Bay Packers dropped a crucial game to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Despite the loss, Josh Jacobs tied a franchise record to add to his stellar season.

Jacobs rushed for a touchdown in the game, making it seven straight games he’s found the end zone in the run game. Jacobs scored on a two-yard run following an interception by Carrington Valentine. The only other player to score in seven straight games on the ground was Hall of Famer Paul Hornung in 1960.

Jacobs signed a four-year, $48 million deal with the Packers in the offseason. He has been a home run addition to the offense and carried the team in Jordan Love’s absence. The former All-Pro has 1,285 rushing yards this season and 14 rushing touchdowns. He fumbled on the Packers’ first drive yesterday, but without him, the Packers would not be in the position they are in this season.

As of late, Jacobs has been getting more involved in the passing game as well. He has 340 receiving yards this season as well. Jacobs can break the record at home next weekend against the Chicago Bears. After that, the Packers will start the playoffs.

Their first-round opponent is yet to be decided, but there is a strong chance they will be heading to Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers kicked off the season against the Eagles in Brazil. They could have a chance to get revenge on them, this time with an offense that has learned to lean on Jacobs early and often.
