The Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers are going all out this season with one goal in mind: making it to the Super Bowl. Rodgers wants his fairytale ending, and the Steelers have built a roster to help him achieve that. It took some time for the two sides to finalize a deal, but there is belief that a verbal agreement was in place throughout the process.
“I just think verbally, behind the scenes, not that he guaranteed it, but he’s told [the Steelers], ‘Listen, I’m gonna play for you. I just don’t want to go there and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of my personal issues. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be solved by the end of May, at least in my satisfaction where I can give you my all,’” Ian O’Connor said.
Rodgers has done a lot this offseason to ensure he is ready once the season starts. He may even be in the best shape of his life.
“I can say here – and I think I’m 100 percent right – [Rodgers] is in the best shape and changed his body a little bit to fit who he really is,” said Super Bowl champion Phil Simms on his podcast.
Former Steelers linebacker James Harrison has expressed some doubts about how things will play out. He believes that eventually, Pittsburgh might find itself in a position where they have to cut Rodgers.
Rodgers has been getting reps with some of his receivers as training camp kicks off. While this will likely be his final season, he could have ended his career after last year. On Saturday, he revealed why he isn’t ready to call it quits just yet.

“Really, everything special in my life is because of this game, and that’s not hyperbole,” Rodgers said.
As a future Hall of Famer, Rodgers’ heartfelt response shows just how much the game means to him. Perhaps once his playing days are over, he will find a way to stay involved in football. Rodgers has been one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL, making this kind of reflection all the more touching.
