The Micah Parsons era for the Green Bay Packers began with a 27-13 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Moreover, Parsons recorded his first sack as a Packer late in the fourth quarter.
It was a lopsided affair with the Packers’ defense only giving up six points through three quarters. Meanwhile, the Green Bay offense hit the ground running with 17 points in the first half and closed it out with 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Packers running back Josh Jacobs ran for 66 yards and one touchdown. Furthermore, he spoke with CBS Sports about the impact that the team has felt since Parsons’ arrival after the blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
“Man, it let the guys know that this organization is all in and winning right now,” Jacobs said postgame. “I think that’s something that’s very important to the morale of the guys, especially working your butt off every offseason, coming in, ready to play. Then you add a guy that’s so dynamic, like Micah, to that defense that’s already dynamic. I mean, the sky’s the limit.”

Parsons is getting up to game speed after having a contract hold-in during his final days with the Cowboys. As a result, Green Bay eased him into the game against the Lions, but even then, he still made an impact with his sack.
The Packers need to turn the page on this win quickly, as they’ll be playing on Thursday Night Football against the Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field. Both teams made the playoffs last season and are off to 1-0 starts after Week 1 wins, and will be eyeing a 2-0 start to the campaign.
