
Two rising stars within the super lightweight division will collide in Chicago on August 2 when Oscar Duarte faces Kenneth Sims. Jr.
A former NABF lightweight champion, Duarte (29-2-1) lost against Ryan Garcia to end 2023. The 29-year-old has since won three straight, including a win against former world champion Joseph Diaz. Duarte, a four-time National Champion, has 23 wins via knockout.
Ranked fifth by the WBA, the 29-year-old is ready to prove he’s ready to fight for gold.
“I feel very happy and motivated to be the main event on August 2nd against Sims Jr… We are going all out, going for that win to get closer to a world championship,” Duarte said.

Sims (22-2-1) is ranked fourth. A nine-time National Champion, ”Bossman” has eight wins via knockout and is on a nine-fight win streak.
The two were originally scheduled to fight in November, but a knee injury forced Sims off the card. They prepared for one another by competing at the same event in February. Now healthy, Sims looks to make a statement.
