Bayern Munich have endured a tough summer transfer window after they have struggled to convince players over joining the Bundesliga champions.
The Bavarians are confident Vincent Kompany is the right coach to lead the club forward, but landing superstar names at the Allianz Arena continues to be a struggle.
This is not an issue unique to Kompany, with former manager Julian Nagelsmann also experiencing issues, and the board appear to be lacking a plan to resolve it.
Former Bayern Munich goalkeeper and CEO Oliver Kahn has slammed the current board members for lack of continuity in the market.
He highlighted this as one of the many reasons players and coaches are rejecting the club, due a lack of financial stability in Bavaria.
“Many coaches have come and gone. As a result, the philosophies and ideas have changed time and time again, as has the squad. It always feels like a constant shake-up. That naturally creates a kind of unrest,” Kahn said in an interaction with Sky Sports Germany.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m also self-critical enough. During my time, there was this very issue of continuity in all areas, I would have liked to have done things better. But that’s something many players and coaches say: ‘I have to think about it very carefully.”
Kahn served the club from 2021 to23 as CEO, and during that time, they went through a lot of changes, which have led to this current condition.
Bayern Munich failed to land transfer targets
Bayern Munich were in the race to sign Florian Wirtz as part of a long-term tracking plan following his rise to stardom at rivals Bayer Leverkusen.
The German champions tried to convince Wirtz to move to Bavaria, but the 22-year-old decided to join Premier League champions Liverpool.
The transfer focus then shifted to Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, who also preferred a move to Barcelona ahead of switching to Germany.
Eventually, he extended his contract in Bilbao, but his intention was clear, in another blow to Kompany.
As the wait rolls on, the club are still in the race for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade but progress is unclear.
Liverpool are asking for a whopping transfer fee on Diaz and Stuttgart are not interested in negotiating on a transfer record offer for Woltemade.
The latest reports suggest that Bayern Munich are desperate to push for Diaz but Woltemade is on hold.
