Tyson Fury looks to avenge his lone career defeat when he takes on unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 21. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will air on DAZN PPV.
Fury (34-1-1) won the WBC heavyweight title in 2020 against Deontay Wilder and finished him in a trilogy fight the following year. “The Gypsy King” successfully defended the WBC title three times before losing it to Usyk. He suffered a knockdown in round nine before losing via split decision.
Fury has been known for miraculous comebacks and performances, whether against Wladimir Klitschko or Wilder. Despite the Usyk loss, he was pleased with his showing and believes a little extra effort can go a long way in the second fight.
“I don’t think I can be any better than what I [was] because I think it was probably one of the best performances that I’ve ever done in my life. Although it didn’t get the result, I thought it was a very fantastic performance against one of my best opponents,” Fury told Sky Sports.

“Can I be any better? Can I do any better? I can be more focused, less clowning, and I think that’s enough.”
Usyk (22-0) went from holding all the gold at cruiserweight to heavyweight in six fights. After taking care of Anthony Joshua twice and stopping Daniel Dubois, Usyk cemented his legacy in boxing against Fury to become undisputed.
While Dubois now holds the IBF title, Usyk will look to block all the noise, repeat his victory over Fury, and have a firm position on top of the division.
