The Denver Nuggets look a bit different this season.
After having a mostly steady starting lineup in recent years, the Nuggets made a big change in the offseason.
They traded Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets. Cameron Johnson came back to Denver as the major pickup in return.
And with that, the starting five will have a new feel to it.
The Nuggets are one of two NBA teams not to have played yet through the first two days of the season, but they finally get to take the court on Thursday night.
Denver hits the road to play at the Golden State Warriors, and they’ll do it with Johnson making his regular season debut for the Nuggets.

Nuggets starting 5
The Denver Nuggets’ projected starting lineup looks like this:
- Jamal Murray
- Christian Braun
- Cameron Johnson
- Aaron Gordon
- Nikola Jokic
Gordon did deal with an injury during the preseason, but he was removed from the injury report on Wednesday.

The Nuggets actually have a pretty logical backup brigade, too.
Bruce Brown should back up Murray. Tim Hardaway Jr. is behind Braun. Julian Strawther is next up behind Johnson. Peyton Watson should see time behind Gordon. And Jonas Valanciunas is the number two center.
If everyone stays healthy, Denver should have a very strong rotation.
