The key to winning in the NBA is star power, and the Denver Nuggets have plenty.
Over the past couple of seasons, Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets have suffered two heartbreaking losses in the second round. With Game 7 defeats in 2024 and 2025, the Nuggets knew they needed to make some adjustments to get back to the mountaintop like they did in 2023.
Throughout the offseason, Denver has made some solid moves to cement itself as one of the NBA’s best teams yet again. By trading Michael Porter Jr. for Cam Johnson and adding other key role players such as Jonas Valanciunas and Tim Hardaway Jr., the Nuggets have fully revamped their supporting cast.
Of course, the NBA is all about the top dogs, and the Nuggets have some of the best top-end talent in the league. In Bleacher Report’s recent ranking of the league’s top Big 3s, Greg Swartz placed Denver’s trio of Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon at No. 2.
Behind only the young trio of the Oklahoma City Thunder that just eliminated the Nuggets last season, the Nuggets clearly still have the talent to compete for an NBA title. Swartz noted that while Jokic is the only one of the three to make an All-Star team, Murray’s level of play often rises to All-Star level in the postseason and has been a key reason for the Nuggets’ playoff success in this era.
Add in Gordon’s all-around game and his ability to deliver in clutch moments, and the Nuggets truly have one of the best Big 3s in basketball.
