Nuggets ludicrous summer trade idea has Denver parting with Nikola Jokic

The modern NBA will always be full of surprises, but some NBA trade scenarios are highly unlikely.

In a ludicrous Denver Nuggets summer trade idea, The Wrightway Sports Network’s Marissa Myers predicts Nikola Jokic will soon grow weary of the Nuggets and force his way out of Denver.

“The bench remains an issue for Denver, and the inconsistencies from the starters at pivotal points is something that hasn’t been fixed either,” Myers wrote Monday.

“At the current moment, with how the Nuggets are constructed, Jokic has to play a perfect game for them to win, and while he is a star player, this shouldn’t be the case.”

“With Jokic being 30, and showing frustration towards the team after their recent struggles, it is only a matter of time before a trade request surfaces.”

“For Jokic, he won’t want to tie himself to a team that is stuck in their ways and not willing to fully change. He will want to position himself best to win another championship, and that won’t happen on the Nuggets.”

Many will watch Jokic play on the hardwood and conclude that he’s a clumsy 6-foot-11 center who shouldn’t dominate the league.

However, by taking the time to analyze Jokic’s generational skill set, one could discover that the three-time MVP’s ability to make complex passes out of the low post, wear defenders down in the paint with his physicality and high-level trickery, and successfully initiate Denver’s offense make him a jack-of-all-trades in the big leagues.

Jokic, who guided the Nuggets to an NBA championship in 2023, averages 29.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per contest this season, shooting 57.5% from the field and 41.3% from downtown.

The 43-25 Nuggets can sometimes overly rely on the seven-time All-Star. Still, it’s preposterous to suggest Jokic will search for greener pastures if Denver doesn’t rebound from their disappointing 2024 postseason showing.

It would be more realistic to witness Denver attempt to surround Jokic with more ammunition entering the 2025-26 campaign.
