Nikola Jokic Snubbed from FIBA EuroBasket 2025 All-Star Five

Nikola Jokic delivered one of the most dominant performances of FIBA EuroBasket 2025, yet he was left off the All-Star Five. Instead, the Serbian superstar was named to the Second Team, while Dennis Schroder, Luka Doncic, Franz Wagner, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Alperen Sengun secured First Team honors.

Over six games, Jokic averaged 22.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He shot an efficient 66.2% from the field and maintained strong free-throw percentages. Even with eye-popping stats and consistent impact on both ends, the early exit in the Round of 16 seems to have cost him a spot among the top five.

Nikola Jokic Shines but Serbia Falls

Throughout the tournament, Nikola Jokic was the centerpiece of Serbia’s attack. He controlled the glass, created opportunities for teammates, and consistently imposed his will inside. His standout game came in the Round of 16 against Finland, where he erupted for 33 points in a must-win matchup. Despite his efforts, Serbia was eliminated by Finland, 92-86, in a stunning upset, cutting short what could have been a deeper run.

Jokic averaged more than 20 points per game along with his trademark rebounding and playmaking, reaffirming his status as one of the most impactful players in international basketball. Still, the All-Star Five leaned heavily toward players whose teams advanced further in the knockout stages. Schroder earned MVP honors for guiding Germany deep into the tournament, while Doncic, Giannis, Wagner, and Sengun all played pivotal roles in their nations’ strong finishes.

For Jokic, the Second Team selection was recognition of his brilliance, but it also highlighted the weight placed on team success in international play. While his absence from the All-Star Five sparked debate among fans and analysts, his performance once again proved that few players can influence a game the way he does.
