NHL Draft free live stream: How to watch 2025 draft picks online without cable

The NHL Draft is an opportunity for a new beginning. Teams have struggled through the regular season, hoping for the next superstar to save the franchise.

Friday, June 27 is the night the 2025 NHL Draft begins. Teams can start their redemption arc with the brightest young talent entering the NHL.

The New York Islanders own the No. 1 pick and could select the top prospect Matthew Schaefer, a Canadian defenseman who played just 17 games for the Erie Otters this past season before suffering a broken clavicle at the 2025 World Juniors.

Despite Schaefer’s limited action, teams generally consider him the best player of this class. He’s effective on both ends of the ice, and he tallied seven goals and 15 assists in limited action.

The Sharks own the No. 2 pick just a year after drafting Macklin Celebrini No. 1. Michael Misa, a Canadian center, will likely be on the board, and San Jose can form a nasty center duo with Misa and Celebrini to jumpstart its franchise. Misa had 62 goals and 72 assists in 65 games this past season.
