NFL Week 6 Expert Picks: Los Angeles Chargers vs. Miami Dolphins

The Los Angeles Chargers are reeling after suffering back-to-back losses following a 3-0 start to the season. They will head to Miami to face the 1-4 Dolphins, a team in desperate need of a win.

The Chargers will limp into Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday missing several key players. The focus in this one will be on the rushing attack, which will be without Omarion Hampton after Najee Harris was already lost for the season. As it stands, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal will carry the load in this game. Look for either Amar Johnson or Nyheim Hines-Miller to be elevated from the practice squad as well.

Do the Chargers get back on track or do their struggles continue? Let’s see how the experts see it.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Miami Dolphins Week 6 Expert Picks

Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Chargers 27, Dolphins 24

“Both of these teams were on the wrong side of double-digit comebacks in NFL Week 5. Justin Herbert and Los Angeles have dropped two straight after a 3-0 start. The Chargers will edge the Dolphins in a tight game in Miami.”

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Dolphins 27, Chargers 26

“This is a long trip for a beat-up Chargers team that didn’t play well in the second half last week in their loss to the Commanders. The Dolphins are coming off a bad loss to the Panthers. Their defense has struggled to stop the run, but the Chargers have injury issues on their line and in the backfield. The Dolphins will win this one behind a good game by Tua Tagovailoa.”

Bill Bender, The Sporting News: Chargers 23, Dolphins 15

“The Chargers are on tilt here after averaging just 14 points per game the last two weeks. Offensive line injuries, including tackle Joe Alt (ankle), have impacted the front line. Los Angeles is 4-2 S/U in games where they travel three time zones under Jim Harbaugh. Miami, however, might be in a worse free-fall under Mike McDaniel right now with the worst run defense in the league (174.2 ypg.)”

Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News: Chargers 30, Dolphins 20

“The Chargers have been sloppy of late with Justin Herbert and the passing game and now they have issues in the running game again. They need to be more consistent for Jim Harbaugh. This should be a get-right game all-around for the offense with the Dolphins’ defense in the tank and Herbert ready to outduel 2020 draft mate Tua Tagovailoa.”

The Chargers and Dolphins are scheduled for kickoff at 10:00 Pacific time on Sunday. The game will be televised on CBS and the trio of Andrew Catalon, Chargers Davis and Jason McCourty will call the action.
