NFL reporter reveals insane price tag Aaron Rodgers might command

The NFL is still awaiting Green Bay Packers legend Aaron Rodgers’ decision about his future. Will he sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers? Could he ride off into the sunset and retire?

No one knows at this point in time, but there are many who are growing tired of Rodgers playing the waiting game.

It was clear that the 41-year-old quarterback preferred to sign with the Minnesota Vikings. When the Vikings didn’t reciprocate that interest, it seems that Rodgers decided to take even more time to decide what he wanted to do.

Right now, the Steelers appear to be the only potential destination for the future Hall of Famer.

One NFL reporter has spoken out about the kind of contract that he thinks Rodgers might end up commanding. It’s the kind of deal that teams should strongly consider passing on.

During a segment of “The Rich Eisen Show,” Eisen stated that he thinks Rodgers could end up getting a two-year, $70 million contract. He could also see the price tag reaching over $40 million per season.

“I think (Aaron Rodgers is) gonna start with a four. North of ($40 million),” Eisen said. “How about this? Two years $70 million, with incentives that can pop it up more.”

At his age, that is a very steep contract to pay. It’s a rich deal for any player for that matter.

Rodgers is coming off of a 2024 season with the New York Jets that saw him complete 63 percent of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He can still play at a high level, but he only has another year or two left before retirement if he chooses to keep playing.

Pittsburgh would likely be the only team willing to play Rodgers that kind of contract. The Steelers badly need a quarterback after deciding to go all-in with a trade for star wide receiver DK Metcalf.

All of that being said, there is no timeline being given for Rodgers’ decision. He continues to take his time and the NFL world continues to wait on him.
