Newcastle plot €200M transfer raid to build Champions League super squad

After being restricted by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules for over two years, Newcastle United are reportedly set to splash €200m [$227m] this summer as they look to give Eddie Howe a Champions League squad. 

According to TuttoJuve.com, they’ve got their sights on major La Liga talents. 

One of their primary target includes- Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes. Despite a staggering €1 billion release clause, Los Blancos are reportedly open to a deal in the region of €80m [$90m]

The Brazilian, while highly rated, has found consistent starts hard to come by at the Bernabeu.

In defense, Real Sociedad’s Jon Aramburu has emerged as a serious target. 
The 21-year-old right-back, valued at €60m [$68m], could be available for €40m [$45m]. 

Newcastle are said to believe the Basque club may accept the reduced figure, especially amid growing interest from other Premier League sides.
Ferran Torres, the Barcelona winger once billed as Spain’s next big thing, is also in the frame.

Newcastle are reportedly ready to meet Barça’s €50m [$56m] asking price. The Catalans are under financial pressure, and the sale of Torres could ease their burden.

The Magpies haven’t signed a first-team player since the summer of 2023 and want to move fast. with Champions League football back at St James’ Park.
