New video of Luka working out has Lakers fans excited for potential MVP season

The Dallas Mavericks may have created a beast when they executed the infamous Los Angeles Lakers-Luka Dončić trade last summer. Not only did they crush Luka by blindsiding him with the trade, but then they proceeded to throw shade at him through the media after he was gone. One of the biggest complaints from the Mavericks about Luka was his lack of conditioning and overall care for his body. That’s why, as skinny Luka pictures and workout videos have started to pop up, many around the league are wondering if a new era of Luka supremacy is on the way.

If you look at the difference between Luka’s body from early in his career and from this season, there are some obvious differences.

Not only did Luka put on a lot of weight over the last few years, but it has seemed to affect his play.  He’s had less explosiveness, fewer dunks, and more injuries. This is probably part of why the Lakers-Luka Dončić trade went down last season.

This season, however, we may see a new Luka. A recent video of Luka working out (and lifting 720lbs!) has Lakers fans drooling.

Many believed that when Luka teamed up with LeBron James, who famously spends over $1 million on his body and preparation, a new skinny Luka may emerge.

In this new Luka workout video, the new Lakers star definitely looks to be in great shape.

If Luka can learn from LeBron and enter the season healthy and in the best shape of his life, he has to be one of the favorites to win the MVP next season.

Still, Luka’s workout videos aren’t going to tell the whole story. We will see in October whether a new, in-shape skinny Luka is going to take the league by storm, or if he will continue to struggle with his body, and the Mavericks won’t regret trading him after all.
