Kevin Durant will likely be on a new team next season, as the Phoenix Suns are working to trade the future Hall of Famer in the next few weeks.
There are a bunch of landing spots for Durant that would give him one final chance to win a third championship, but Yardbarker’s Pat Heery proposes a trade that would send the Oklahoma City Thunder legend to the New York Knicks.
Heery’s proposed trade package:
- SUNS RECEIVE: Forward Karl-Anthony Towns, center Ariel Hukporti and a 2030 first-round pick for Durant
- KNICKS RECEIVE: Forward Kevin Durant
Durant could be the missing piece that elevates the Knicks into a serious title contender, as he would give New York a legitimate second star next to Jalen Brunson and another automatic offensive force.
Trading away Towns after just acquiring him last offseason would hurt, but adding Durant would make it worth it for the Knicks.
Though the Suns had a disastrous 2024 season, Durant was still productive. He averaged 26.6 points per game on 52.7% from the field and 43$ from three.
The 36-year-old is one of the greatest scorers of all time, and ending his career on the Knicks would be electric.
